Students, faculty, and staff of Passaic County Technical-Vocational Schools (PCTVS) celebrated the start of summer with memorable graduation ceremonies for Passaic County Technical Institute and the STEM Academy.

History was made on Monday, April 4th, as the playing field located on the corner of Preakness Avenue and Oldham Road were officially dedicated and named the “Albert A. Alexander Athletic Field.”
|
|
|
Over the past several years, the Passaic County Technical-Vocational Schools’ Culinary ProStart Program has garnered national attention. The team, consisting of students from the PCTI School of Culinary Arts, has finished in the top four at the National ProStart Invitational two years in a row. The program also has twelve 1st Place Awards in NJ state competitions, and just added a thirteenth to their accomplishments.

The Passaic County Board of County Commissioners has recognized PCTVS school nurse Mary Ann De Stefano as part of this year’s Women’s History Month themed “Women Providing Healing, Promoting Hope.” She will receive a County Proclamation on Tuesday, March 22nd.

As each year goes by, our Future Business Leaders of America continue to thrive and show its opponents what it means to be a Bulldog! This year, sixteen of our FBLA members who participated in the regional competitions were placed among the top competitors in the northern region and have qualified to participate in the state competitive events.

Since his graduation from PCTVS in 2018, Malcolm Young has been very busy. The Clifton native, who was a member of the PCTI School of Performing Arts, has danced his way into some amazing opportunities. In 2021, he graduated from the NYU Tisch School of the Arts with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and a minor in Business of Entertainment, Media, and Technology.

For the past 15 years, the New Jersey Community Development Corporation’s Paterson Youth Council has celebrated Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s life, vision, and commitment to public service and civil rights by recognizing Paterson residents. for their positive influence in the community.

PCTVS is proud and honored to present Skopos Hospitality Group’s The Barrow House as Business Partner of the Year 2021-2022. The Barrow House, located in Clifton, will work directly with the PCTVS School of Culinary Arts to cooperatively train, and employ some of the school’s most talented and eager Culinary students.

Saturday, December 18th was an extraordinary day to remember. The rain and chilly weather didn’t stop over 300 attendees from participating in National Wreaths Across America Day at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa.

On Tuesday, December 14th, in an awe-inspiring display of patriotism, unity, and remembrance, the Wreaths Across America Special Convoy Escort remarkably rolled onto the campus of Passaic County Technical-Vocational Schools on their way from Maine to Arlington National Cemetery, in preparation for the annual wreath laying ceremony on December 18th.

On Thursday, December 9th, music students from Passaic County Technical-Vocational schools performed a recital at William Paterson University representing the culmination of a yearly project between the music departments at WPU and PCTVS.

Every year from September 15 to October 15, Passaic County Technical-Vocational Schools, along with the rest of the country, celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month by honoring the community’s history, heritage, and contributions of the ancestors of American citizens who came from Mexico, Spain, the Caribbean, and South and Central America.
