Varsity/JV Fall Tryouts
If you are interested in trying out for Football Cheer, you need to hand in a new physical form to a nurse by May 25th. You must be cleared by a nurse specifically for Cheer to tryout. THE SOONER YOU HAND IN A PHYSICAL THE BETTER.
- When: Wednesday, May 31th and Thursday, June 1st
- Where: Meet in Multipurpose room, 2nd floor of Athletic Center
- Time: 3:00-5:00pm
There will be 5:00 buses home.
There will be buses home at 5:00.
If you make the team, you will be expected to participate in Freshmen Welcoming nights, and Senior Athletic Awards.
On the first day of tryouts, you will learn a cheer, dance, and jumps. On the second day, you will show all 3 in groups of 3 and be scored from 1-5. Students will then be told by ID number if they made the teams. Please report to tryouts in shorts, a t-shirt, and sneakers. No jewelry is allowed, Band-Aids are not allowed over piercings, and your hair is to be secured in a ponytail.
If you make the teams here are important future dates (these are all mandatory and missing any can have reduction in cheering time):
- Summer Camp: August 14th-18th and August 21st-25th
- Varsity has practice on Mondays and Thursdays from 3-5pm, games on Fridays or Saturdays
- JV Games are Mondays
Incoming Freshmen Fall Tryouts

Competition Tryouts
If you are interested in trying out for Competition Cheer, you need to hand in a new physical or medical update form to a nurse by August 25th. You must be cleared by a nurse specifically for Cheer to tryout.
- When: Monday, August 28th and Tuesday, August 29th
- Where: Meet in Multipurpose room, 2nd floor of Athletic Center
- Time: 9:00-11:00am
There will be bus pickups at:

We will also evaluate stunting skills. Students will then be told by ID number if they made the teams. Please report to tryouts in shorts, a t-shirt, and sneakers. No jewelry is allowed, Band-Aids are not allowed over piercings, and your hair is to be secured in a ponytail.
Anyone trying out will need to have experience stunting (you will not be taught the basics) and will also need to have a standing back handspring and a running roundoff back handspring on a FLAT MAT.
If you make the teams here are important future dates (these are all mandatory as you make a commitment to your teammates to always be present):
- Summer Practice: Wednesday, August 30th 9:00-11:00am
- SEPT-OCT: Practices: Tuesdays 3-5 pm, Tumbling: Wednesdays (TBD)
- NOV-DEC: Practices: Tuesdays & Thursdays 3-5 pm, Tumbling: Wednesdays (TBD)
- JAN-MAR (1st week): Practices: Tuesdays & Thursdays 3-5pm
- Big North Meets: January 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th. The snow date is February 5th, and Playoffs & Championship are 2/12 and 2/16.
- Weekend Comps: Just Cheer (TBD), States 2/24, and NJTAC (TBD)
Winter Tryouts
If you are interested in trying out for Basketball Cheer, you need to hand in a new physical form to a nurse by November 24th. You must be cleared by a nurse specifically for Cheer to tryout. THE SOONER YOU HAND IN A PHYSICAL THE BETTER.
- When: Monday, November 27th and Tuesday, November 28th
- Where: Meet in Cafe 1
- Time: 3:00-5:00pm

Varsity has practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-5pm, until games start, then you have games on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and occasionally a Saturday.
