In continuing our ongoing patriotic initiatives, Passaic County Technical Vocational Schools hosted a moving and insightful Q&A panel in commemoration of National Vietnam War Veterans Day, featuring revered Vietnam veterans. The event provided a platform for reflection, dialogue, and gratitude towards those who served during one of the most tumultuous periods in American history.
The panel, facilitated by the PCTVS Social Studies Department, showcased the experiences and perspectives of Vietnam War veterans, offering a unique opportunity for students and attendees to gain firsthand insights into the challenges faced by those who served.
Among the esteemed veterans who participated in the panel were Tony Vancheri, who provided valuable insights into combat operations and the realities of war. John Harris shared his reflections on the camaraderie and bonds forged amidst the chaos of battle. Al Di Zenzo offered perspectives on the challenges of reintegrating into civilian life post-service, and Gene Dittamo shed light on the importance of remembrance and honoring the sacrifices of those who served.
Each veteran brought a wealth of experience and wisdom, contributing to a rich tapestry of narratives that highlighted the diverse experiences of servicemen during the Vietnam War era.
The panel was distinguished by its interactive format, with questions posed by PCTVS history students. This student-led approach not only facilitated engaging discussions but also fostered a deeper understanding and appreciation for the veterans' experiences among the younger generation.
In honoring National Vietnam War Veterans Day, PCTVS reaffirms its commitment to fostering dialogue, understanding, and respect for those who have served their country with courage and distinction. The Q&A panel served as a reminder of the sacrifices made by veterans and the enduring legacy of their service.
