Current PCTVS School of Automotive Technology students hands-on learning
Passaic County Technical-Vocational Schools (PCTVS) and the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office have cultivated a partnership for more than 25 years, driven by a mutual commitment to community engagement and continuous learning. Recognizing the importance of skilled individuals in maintaining its fleet of vehicles, the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) has consistently provided a platform for engagement and learning, inviting PCTVS’ School of Automotive Technology students to contribute their knowledge and skills.
PCTVS honored the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department motor pool as the 2023-2024 Business Partner of the Year, acknowledging the invaluable employment opportunities created for automotive students in our School-to-Careers program. The partnership has not only provided students with hands-on experience but has also facilitated job shadowing events and work-based learning opportunities, enriching their educational journey and preparing them for successful careers post-graduation.
Under the leadership of Commander Scott Stracco, alumni of PCTI's School of Automotive Technology, ranging from the graduating classes of 1996 to 2023, have played a pivotal role in maintaining the Sheriff's fleet of vehicles. Their training and expertise have ensured that the Sheriff's vehicles remain operational and ready for any task at hand.
It is noteworthy that the Sheriff's Office currently boasts the largest motorcycle fleet in New Jersey as they are committed to staying at the forefront of law enforcement technology and innovation. This partnership underscores the significance of collaboration between educational institutions and local organizations, showcasing how such alliances can benefit both parties and the broader community alike.
Passaic County Technical-Vocational Schools remains dedicated to nurturing the success of its alumni and is proud to witness them making meaningful contributions to society. As we continue to foster our partnership with the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office, we look forward to further exemplifying the power of collaboration in driving positive change.
