Ying Zhang of Passaic County Technical Institute’s (PCTI) Academy of Finance was invited to participate in the highly competitive NAF 2017 Bank On It Tournament after she was declared the champion among her classmates.
The tournament functions as an online competition that challenges the knowledge of students in the topics of business and industry at the staff accountant level. The board of the game is modeled after Monopoly and students build up their banks by correctly answering questions. There’s even the unfortunate opportunity for players to be audited. Should they not answer questions correctly, they can lose up to 35% of their funds.
Over the past few months, Ying quickly advanced from PCTI to the rounds one and two of the nationwide tournament. She was eventually named among the final four and traveled to Dallas, Texas on July 11th to compete at the Bank On It Tournament at the 2017 NAFNext Conference. It was a close call and Ying gave it her all. She eventually placed 3rd in the nation!
Congratulations to this PCTI senior for achieving this outstanding feat!
