Catherine Nolan of Passaic County Technical Institute was selected as the Counselor of Passaic County by the NJ School Counselor Association! She was celebrated on March 23rd with other counselors from counties across New Jersey at the annual “Counselor of the County” Awards Program which was held at The College of New Jersey.
The award honors professionals who devote their careers to serving as advocates – and often lifesavers – for the nation’s students. Catherine Nolan was nominated by fellow counselor Laura Vacca. In her nomination letter, Laura praised Catherine’s dedication to her students, her hard work, and the ability for this incredible woman to bring out the best in her students and colleagues. “She has taught me about the kind of counselor I want to be. She demands your best - from me, her students, and she demands it from herself.”
Catherine was honored for her ability to deliver an effective school counseling program which focuses on academic development, career counseling, and personal/social support. She further distinguished herself as a leader of systemic change, a student advocate, and a collaborative professional who seeks the success of the “whole” student in school and in life.
