Passaic County Technical Institute (PCTI) freshman and member of the School of Engineering Technology, Shana’E Walker, was selected by the Give Something Back Foundation (GSMF) as a Scholar Student. The honor ensures that Shana’E receives mentorship and scholarships to graduate from a select college in four years, debt free.
The Give Back Foundation provides students with the resources and tools necessary to succeed before even arriving on campus. As a Student Scholar, Shana’E will be paired with a qualified mentor to help her stay on track, reach successive goals, and navigate the complexities of college. In addition, Scholar Students are held to a high standard; they are required to retain a 3.0 GPA while in high school, take college preparatory courses, and must demonstrate strong character throughout the duration of the program.
Shana’E Walker will graduate from PCTI in 2020 with a background in Pre-Engineering, as well as strong math and science skills. Through the Give Something Back Foundation, she will choose to attend one of the following universities: Montclair State University, NJIT, Rowan University, Saint Peter’s University, TCNJ, or William Paterson University.
Shana’E is one of only sixty-three students to be selected as a Scholar student for the Give Something Back Foundation in April of 2017.
