PCTI Valedictorian for the Class of 2024 is an exemplary student who epitomizes excellence in every facet. With an impressive GPA of 4.681, Hana Ighneim's academic accomplishments stand as a testament to her dedication and exceptional abilities. However, it is her remarkable character that truly distinguishes her among her peers.
Hana's journey at PCTI's Academy of Health Sciences reflects her passion for the medical field, a passion she has always harbored. Her decision to enroll in this program was driven by her aspiration to pursue a career in healthcare. “I always knew from a young age that I wanted to be in the medical field, and I knew that PCTI had the programs that I wanted.”
Beyond her academic skills, Hana is deeply involved in various clubs and organizations, demonstrating her well-rounded nature. She serves as the president of the National Honor Society, a member at large and a nationally recognized competitor for HOSA. Additionally, she is a member of the World Language Honor Society, Rho Kappa, Gifted and Talented program, Environmental Club, and holds the position of Class of 2024 class representative.
In her spare time, Hana generously dedicates herself to tutoring calculus, cherishing moments with her siblings, and nurturing her newfound interest in baking and most enjoys making cinnamon rolls.
Looking toward the future, Hana plans to pursue higher education at NJIT, where she has been accepted into their Out Performance Honors College for Biomedical Engineering on the Pre-med track. With aspirations to attend medical school and specialize in dermatology, she is poised to make significant contributions to the field of healthcare.
Hana's advice for freshmen reflects her own journey of growth and achievement: "Never think that anything is beyond your capabilities. You’re so much smarter and more capable than you can even imagine."
Her remarkable achievements, coupled with her compassionate spirit and determination, make her a shining example of excellence at PCTI. As she embarks on the next chapter of her journey, we are confident that she will continue to inspire and lead with distinction.

An exemplary student of the Academy of Health Science, she is dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in the healthcare field, Anisah's journey is marked by her passion for medicine and commitment to academic achievement.
Anisah's choice of the Academy of Health Sciences stems from her lifelong interest in medicine, as she shares, "I chose my CTE as I've always been interested in medicine and wanted to expand my opportunities and experiences in the healthcare field." With a remarkable GPA of 4.619, Anisah's academics and dedication to her studies have truly distinguished her as a standout among her peers.
Throughout her time at PCTI, Anisah has been actively involved in a variety of clubs and extracurricular activities, showcasing her well-rounded interests and dedication to service. She is a proud member of the National Honor Society, World Language Honor Society, Gifted and Talented Club, HOSA, and ERASE, where she has demonstrated her commitment to academic excellence and community engagement.
Beyond her school activities, Anisah dedicates her time to meaningful service work, volunteering at a rehabilitation facility and a local Islamic school where she serves as a youth group leader. Through these experiences, she exemplifies the values of compassion in giving back to her community.
Upon being named Salutatorian, Anisah expresses her gratitude, stating, "I'm honored to be named student of the month and to be recognized for all the hard work I've put in. I'm glad to be representing my class."
Looking ahead, Anisah plans to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, with a specialization in labor and delivery, as she continues her journey in the healthcare field. Her goals and commitment to excellence are indications to her bright future ahead.
For incoming freshmen, Anisah offers valuable advice on perseverance and goal-setting, “keep working towards your goal and remember that the four years go by fast and that each day is one day closer to the finish line.”

STEM Valedictorian
STEM Academy Valedictorian for the Class of 2024, George Oshiro, has distinguished himself through exceptional academic achievements and a dedication to extracurricular pursuits. With an impressive GPA of 4.631, George has consistently displayed intellectual prowess and a commitment to excellence throughout his high school journey.
As a dedicated student of the STEM Academy's Biomedical pathway, George has eagerly embraced opportunities to expand his knowledge and skills in the field of life sciences, “I chose my CTE because I just had a natural attraction to the sciences, and I was really interested in these different scientific concepts from biology to chemistry and how they interconnect. I’m also really interested in their applications into real-world problems such as eliminating pathogens and just improving human health.”
As Valedictorian, George reflects on his journey, “It’s a surreal experience. I started school thinking I wanted to be in the top ten, to be named number one is an absolute achievement. It’s obviously something I am very proud of, and I am grateful to have family, friends, and teachers that have helped me get this far.”
Beyond academics, George is actively engaged in various school organizations, including the National Honor Society, where he serves as an officer, as well as the World Language Honor Society and the gifted and talented program. He also participates in Biomedical-related activities, demonstrating his commitment to exploring his interests beyond the classroom.
In his free time, George generously volunteers with St. Peter's Haven, contributing to food distribution efforts for families in need. His dedication to community service underscores his compassionate nature and desire to make a positive impact beyond the school walls.
Next year, George will attend Vassar College where he plans to study either Biochemistry or Molecular Biology. While studying, he looks forward to the opportunity to finding internship opportunities as well as studying abroad. In his future, he looks to be come either a pathologist or laboratory researcher, to aid in the fight of eliminating pathogens and improving human health.
As George prepares to graduate, his advice for freshmen reflects his own transformative high school experience: “Just strive to push yourself because these four years, as crazy as they've been, they've really changed me. There will be times that it may be difficult but getting out of your comfort zone and putting in the time and effort, I think you can really have the chance to grow and better yourself here at PCTVS.”

The STEM Academy is proud to announce Austin Shepley as the Salutatorian for the Class of 2024. A distinguished student of the Computer Science pathway, Austin chose his CTE, “because it is on the cusp of what was being done in the world, so I was interested to learn more about the field.” With an outstanding GPA of 4.59, Austin's dedication and enthusiasm for learning have truly set him apart from his peers.
Austin's journey at STEM has been marked by his active involvement in various clubs and extracurricular activities, showcasing his well-rounded interests and abilities. A student-athlete he has been an integral part of the boys' soccer team, the Gifted and Talented Club, the World Language Honors Society, and the National Honors Society. Additionally, he contributed to the Engineering Club and participated in the VEX Robotics team, demonstrating his passion for innovation and problem-solving.
Beyond his school activities, Austin has distinguished himself as an Eagle Scout after 12 years of dedication to the Boy Scouts, showcasing his commitment to leadership and service. He has also participated in STEM competitions such as the Steam Tank Competition and the IMC Prosperity Trading Competition, further highlighting his dedication to academic excellence and intellectual exploration.
Being named Salutatorian Austin says, “It feels good, but I was not expecting it. I was just trying to focus on my classes, so this was a big bonus. I’m thankful to my for peers helping me when I’m studying, but my teachers are also a big reason for why I got here. I’ve had some really amazing teachers.”
Looking ahead, Austin plans to pursue a dual degree in Physics and Material Science Engineering at the University of Michigan. While in college Austin would like to focus on academic research and even hopes to do study abroad program where during his time abroad he can get further experience in his field of choice.
For incoming freshmen, Austin offers valuable advice on the importance of planning ahead, “coming in as a freshman, high school can be pretty scary and you can become overwhelmed. I think it’s best to focus on understanding your whole path through high school, if you want to get the full experience and have the most fun it does help to plan ahead.”
