Mahek Shah
Mahek Shah is one of the most personable and outgoing students at PCTVS – she’s funny, witty, and extremely charming. The Clifton native and Engineering student has an incredible GPA of 4.479 and ranks in the top three percent of her class. Mahek credits this achievement to all of her hard work and dedication and will use this honor to inspire and push herself even further, “It gives me a boost of motivation to keep trying harder because now I know working hard can definitely pay off.”
But Mahek doesn’t just keep this motivation to herself, she is often meeting and speaking to underclassmen and giving them advice about navigating the school/social life balance, which is never an easy task. “I was lucky enough to learn how to balance my time and always want to pay that forward whenever I can.”
While here on campus Mahek is involved in many school activities. In 2020 she was a STEM Expo Top 5 Finalist, which is no easy feat. She’s been a member of the PCTVS Book Club since freshman year and is now the Co-President. Mahek is also a member of the National Honor Society, Secretary of Rho Kappa National Social Studies Honor Society, Dance Club, Sign Language Club, and is a Teacher’s Assistant at the STEM Saturday Academy. When not in school Mahek likes to read, bike and dance, and is also a teacher and assistant teacher at AUM Dance Creations. She also volunteers at the Jain Center of New Jersey with food and clothing drives.
Mahek’s future goals are to attend Massachusetts Institute of Technology and make a breakthrough in the aerospace field so that other women are inspired to do the same and level the playing field in a male-dominated industry.
Mahek has some valuable advice and words of wisdom for current and incoming students, “Talk to other students and make friends! Everyone is trying to figure it out at the same time. I promise you someone will be glad you walked up to them.”
Congratulations to Mahek on all her outstanding accomplishments. The Bulldog Family wishes you all the best in the future!

Julia’s future goals are to attend either the University of Pittsburgh or Harvard. She plans to compete in Division 1 swimming, while also pursuing a Bachelors’ Degree in Health Sciences to become a Physician Assistant specializing in Pediatrics.
When asked if she had any advice for current or incoming students Julia replied, “My advice is to be yourself and not worry so much because in the end, everything will work out – you just need to have trust and faith in yourself that everything will turn out okay.”
