November Athletes of the MonthCongratulations to Jonathan Stobe, Nancy Habib, and Amire Nickelson, November’s Athletes of the Month! Jonathan Stobe is a three-year varsity football starter who: As a senior, he helped power the Bulldogs to an 8-2 record and the team’s first North Jersey Super Conference Liberty-Red Divisional Title. This versatile player is the leader of the Bulldog’s defense. Jonathan is a superb runner-stopper from the Outside Linebacker position. He has made many key contributions to the Bulldogs storied defense and has been doing so for the past three seasons. This year, Jonathan led the team with 78 total tackles, 46 solo tackles, 9 of which were for a loss. He averaged an astounding 9 tackles per game. Jonathan’s defense kept opponents at bay with an average of less than 7 points per game with three shut-out victories (Clifton-Bergen Tech-Passaic). Our Bulldogs most impressive victory was the 15-7 Ridgewood game, where the Bulldogs shut down the Maroon wing-T offense, only giving up one big play late in the 4th quarter. Nancy Habib is a three-year varsity cross country starter who: As a junior and a team captain, she has emerged as the new leader of the Lady Bulldogs Cross Country team. Nancy quickly filled the void left by last year’s team leader and the Passaic County Female Athlete of the year, Sarah Shannon. Nancy has truly impressed in the 2017 campaign. She placed in the top five in her race at the Season Opener Invitational, finished 2nd in the BNC Liberty batch meet, and finished 2nd in the BNC Liberty Divisional championship. Nancy has beaten every runner in the league at least once. She placed in the top five at the Garret Mountain Invitational and won the Passaic County Championship (Individual- First Place), becoming the 1st female cross country student-athlete in PCTI school history to accomplish this feat. Nancy was the NJTAC Tech tournament individual champion and performed well in the NJSIAA Sectional championships. We are excited for her many accomplishments and look forward to her senior campaign in 2018. Amire Nickelson is a three-year varsity football starter who: As a senior, he helped power the Bulldogs to an 8-2 record and the team’s first-ever North Jersey Super Conference Liberty-Red Divisional Title. Amire is a versatile Quarterback who has made key contributions on the offensive side of the ball, both on the ground and in the air. He has rushed for over 500 yards and has three touchdowns on the ground and has thrown for over 1200 yards with 15 touchdowns in the air. In the divisional title game on 10/28/17 against Ridgewood, Amire had 18 completions for 166 yards and was just as effective on the ground. He scrambled for an additional 90 yards to lead the Bulldogs to a 15-7 victory over Ridgewood. |
