Congratulations to Arbert Cipion and Na’Angel Hodge, PCTI’s April Athletes of the Month!
Arbert Cipion is a second-year varsity starter who:
Has had a tremendous junior season as one of the leaders of the Bulldog Baseball team. Arbert is a five-tool player for the Bulldogs as he can run, field, throw hit for power and for contact. At the plate, Arbert has the lead-off spot in the lineup batting .404 with 9 RBIs, 23 Runs and 19 Hits featuring 6 doubles, 1 triple and 11 stolen bases throughout the Month of April. Arbert’s contributions helped lead PCTI to earn the #4 seed in the PCCA County Tournament. The team eventually advanced to the finals of the tournament, but did so without Arbert in the line-up. He severely injured his hand on May 1st during a game against Bergen Tech and broke two metacarpal bones while sliding into third base. The season-ending injury required surgery. Arbert is currently working hard in rehabilitation and is looking forward to rejoining the team in their 2018 campaign. The Bulldogs look forward to welcoming him back!
Na’Angel Hodge is a four-year varsity starter who:
Has had a tremendous senior season as one of the leaders of the Lady Bulldogs Softball team. Na’Angel is a five-tool player and has proved to be a standout player at the plate, on the field and in the pitcher’s circle. At the plate, Na’Angel has been productive for the Lady Bulldogs batting .402 with 21 RBIs, 13 Runs and 4 Home Runs. In the pitcher’s circle, she has recorded nearly 60 innings pitched with a 3.81 ERA to post a personal record of 4 wins with only 2 losses. As a returning 1st Team All County selection, she leads the team in HRs, RBI and batting average and is second on the team in runs scored and stolen bases. Na’Angel’s defensive performance at second base and her outstanding outings as a pitcher has helped lead the Bulldogs to a 9-5 record in the month of April. The four year varsity starter will attend Pace University in the fall where she will study nursing.
