Sophomore Amaya Ruiz of the Academy of Criminal Justice has been accepted into Brown University’s prestigious summer program. Summer@Brown offers non-credit courses in the liberal arts and sciences for students looking to experience academics on an Ivy League campus. The program features nearly 200 courses that echo the level of first year college classes.
Brown is extremely selective of its accepted students. Amaya’s high scoring on her practice ACT enabled her to be considered for this honor. In addition, she was required to write an essay and to submit a letter of recommendation.
Amaya chose her area of study to existentialism, which falls under the umbrella of philosophy. The three week long course will give her the opportunity to live and learn on the Brown University Campus.
Congratulations to Amaya Ruiz on being selected for this remarkable program!
