Congratulations to DaShanique Ruffin (Girls Basketball) and Eric Johnson-Alford (Boys Basketball) for being selected as January’s Athletes of the Month
DaShanique “Chyna” Ruffin is a two-year varsity starter who:
Has a sophomore, serves as one of the leaders of the Girls’ Basketball team that is currently 7-9 in conference play. She was awarded the seventh-seed in the Passaic County Coaches Association, County Tournament and led the Lady Bulldogs to a 4-2 record over the past six games. DaShanique averages 20 points per game with 15 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. She earned a Record Athlete of the Week nomination for her performance against Lakeland High School where she scored a career high of 29 points in a single contest.
Eric Johnson-Alford is a four-year varsity starter who:
As a senior, serves as one of the captains of the Boys’ Basketball team which is currently 10-8 in conference play. He was awarded the fifth-seed in the Passaic County Coaches Association County Tournament and has led the Bulldogs to a number of key victories, none more impressive than the 87-74 victory over Bergen Catholic. The feat earned Eric a much deserved Record Athlete of the Week nomination. He averages 18.3 points per game with 9.9 rebounds, 3 assists and 2.1 blocks. Eric is a force to be reckoned with; he has been nominated to the NJSIAA’s 38th annual New Jersey All-Star North-South Basketball Classic Game to be played on Sunday March 20, 2016 because of his execution and presence on the court.
