Charmi Rana is a Passaic local whose aptitude for volunteerism knows no bounds. Her kind, generous, and determined qualities serve her well in her career of choice as a shining member of the Academy of Medical Arts.
It’s all about focus. Charmi’s involvement in numerous clubs and outreach initiatives has remained steady throughout her entire four years of high school. She has been a class representative, a member of SLICE, ERASE, and HOSA, and a respectable cadet in the NJROTC. Charmi has greeted her career at PCTI with untold grace.
“PCTI has presented me with so many opportunities. I want to take advantage of them all,” she said. It was her experience in the school’s ROTC that encouraged Charmi to evolve into her fullest self. The student-run program, she explained, allowed her to discover her penchant for leadership. “I learned a lot about having confidence in myself.”
With a cumulative GPA of 4.34 and having already accumulated 28 college credits, Charmi has definitely mastered what it takes to succeed! She has achieved many honors, including placing in state and national HOSA competitions and being named Division Commander during her junior year and Squad Leader during her freshman/sophomore years in the NJROTC. As a member of the Academy of Medical Arts, Charmi’s hard work has allowed her to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). She is also working towards her EMT certification.
In her free time, she can be found volunteering at St. Mary’s Hospital where she assists patients, works closely with nurses, and provides services at the information desk. Charmi’s desire to enrich the lives of others is also demonstrated through her passion for cultural dance. She has performed in numerous PCTI assemblies and at family and community functions.
When it comes to life after high school, Charmi has it all figured out. She looks forward to attending NYU or Rutgers University and will work toward a Bachelor degree in Biology/Pre-Med. She will further her education by attending Medical School. This track will lead her along the path of becoming a General Physician. Her dream doesn’t end there. Charmi one day hopes to open and own her very own practice.
Congratulations to this dedicated Bulldog on achieving all her accomplishments! We wish you the best of luck in the future!
