Congratulations to PCTI’s May and June Athletes of the Month – Kevin Copper (Boys Spring Track), Angel Rowe (Girls Spring Track), Aaniyah Robinson (Girls Spring Track), and Zaire Weaver!
Kevin Copper is a three-year varsity starter and now two-time Athlete of the Month nominee, who:
Has had a tremendous junior season as one of the leaders of the Boys Spring Track team. At the Big North Conference Championships, Kevin took first place in the High Jump with a school record height of 6’7’’! He also took third place in both the Long Jump and Triple Jump. Kevin’s accomplishments in the High Jump earned him first team all-county accolades in the Passaic County Championships. He led the Bulldogs in both dual and relay meet points as the team’s highest scorer. Kevin’s 6’7’’ High Jump leap was the best in North Jersey for the season. He has helped the Bulldogs remain undefeated this season (5-0) and powered them to yet another Big North Conference Liberty Division Championship (the fifth consecutive win) and a PCCA Championship. Kevin was a first team All-Liberty and First Team All-County selection in the High Jump.
Angel Rowe is a two-year varsity starter who:
Has had a tremendous junior season as one of the leaders of the Girls Spring Track team. She has increased her personal best performances in the Triple Jump, the Long Jump, and the High Jump to impressive marks: Triple Jump 37’6” and High Jump 4’10’’; Angel was able to take fifth in the High Jump and Third in the Triple Jump at the County Championship but her best marks were held in the State Sectionals and State Group Finals where she would eventually improve her personal best in the Triple Jump with a mark of 37’6’’ and earn a spot at the State Meet of Champions. Angel has helped the Lady Bulldogs remain undefeated this season (5-0) and powered them to yet another Big North Conference Liberty Division Championship. Angel was a first team All-Liberty selection in the Triple Jump.
Aaniyah Robinson is a two-year varsity starter who:
Has had a tremendous junior season as one of the leaders of the Girls Spring Track team. She quickly emerged as one of the premier sprinters in the county. Aaniyah earned the bronze medal with a third place finish in the Passaic County Championship meet in the 100 meter dash. She was also an important component to the All-County PCTI 4x100 meter relay team, helping the group to earn first-team all-county honors in the event. Aaniyah was a fourth place finisher in the 100 meter dash in the state sectional meet and her 4x100 meter squad went on to win the state sectional 4x100 meter relay. She has helped the Lady Bulldogs remain undefeated this season (5-0) and powered them to yet another Big North Conference Liberty Division Championship. Aaniyah was a first team All-Liberty selection in the 200 meter dash, a First Team All-County selection in the 100 meter dash, and a member of the First Team All-County 4x100 Meter Relay Team.
Zaire Weaver is a four-year varsity starter and now two-time Athlete of the Month nominee who:
Has had a tremendous senior season the leader of the Boys Spring Track team. At the Passaic County Championship meet, he took third place in both the Triple Jump and the 4x100 meter relay. Zaire also took first place in the Long Jump. In the state sectional meet, he again took first place in the Long Jump and third place in both the Triple Jump and 4x100 meter relay. In the State Group Four Meet, Zaire took seventh place in the Triple Jump and third place in the Long Jump, qualifying for the State Meet of Champions in both events. At the State Meet of Champions, Zaire finished with the 8th best long Jump in the entire state of New Jersey in this 2015 season, earning a bronze medal at the prestigious event. He has helped the Bulldogs remain undefeated this season (5-0) and powered them to yet another Big North Conference Liberty Division Championship (teams fifth consecutive) and a PCCA Championship. Zaire was a first team All-Liberty and First Team All-County selection in the Long Jump.
