Christopher Laky is a talented young man who enjoys figuring out just how things work. This Clifton native has found the perfect home in PCTI’s School of Construction Technology where he shines in his concentration, the Electrical program. His vast collection of knowledge will serve him well when entering the Engineering field.
Christopher realized his passion while engaging in home improvement projects before attending high school. Since the age of ten, he has designed various creations out of wood. This “go-getter” attitude demonstrates that Christopher often pursued learning ventures entirely of his own volition.
“I really enjoy hand-on learning, especially when it comes to dealing in the circuit, “Christopher said. He is particularly fond of working with outlets and lighting fixtures.
This Bulldog is known for maintaining good standing in both his academic and vocational classes. He has consistently achieve PCTI’s Honor Roll with a GPA of 3.7! Christopher has taken honors courses, which includes his favorite subject, Physics. He has also competed in the SkillsUSA competition under the category of Industrial Motor Control.
Outside of school Christopher can be found volunteering his time at St. Andres the Apostle Church where he serves as an usher. He also donates his time to help out at the American Cancer Society’s relay for Life events. When not studying or servicing the community, Christopher is involved in many hobbies, such as fishing, hunting, archery, basketball, and football.
Upon graduating from PCTI, he is looking forward to attending college and receiving a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering. Christopher has applied to NJIT, William Paterson University, Rutgers, and Montclair State University. His dream job is to work for a company that will allow him to rebuild America through the construction of roads highways, and bridges.
When asked what the best thing about his time spent at PCTI was, Christopher said, “I’m grateful for the amazing student-to-teacher relationships. They really take the time and pay individual attention when instructing courses here. I wouldn’t be where I am today if not for them.
Congratulations to this bright and determined young man! May your future endeavors bring nothing but the best success!
