Javier Nicasio is not your typical PCTI senior. He is an avid activist in the SkillsUSA program—a partnership of students, teachers, and industry working together to ensure America develops a skilled workforce. The program’s focus is helping students excel. Throughout his three years in the program, Javier has accomplished much, receiving award after award and tackling numerous responsibilities, all of which have aided in his personal growth.
Most notably, Javier Nicasio received the honor of being elected New Jersey’s State Parliamentarian. He is one of seven officers representing all of New Jersey and has held this position since his junior year. Other outstanding accomplishments include: being elected as the Parliamentarian of SkillsUSA PCTI Chapter and placing first in New Jersey’s SkillsUSA Pre-School Teaching Competition (sophomore year), as well as being elected New Jersey’s SkillsUSA Northern Region President, placing first in in New Jersey’s SkillsUSA Pre-School Teaching Competition, and placing second in Nationals Pre-School teaching Competition (junior year).
Javier looks back on his previous years with SkillsUSA with pride. The organization has allowed him to travel and meet new people, to speak with large audiences at the New Jersey State Convention, and to take a real leadership role in defining his future.
Upon graduating PCTI, Javier plans to attend a university and majoring in Education K-5, double minoring in political Science and Social Studies. One thing’s for certain, this Bulldog is built for success. Congratulations Javier Nicasio, your hard work and dedication is sure to take you far!
