Introducing Dr. Michael Parent, New Principal of PCTI.
Passaic County Technical Institute is no stranger to embracing the new. And what can be bigger than welcoming a very important person into the Bulldog family? Last year, we said goodbye to our beloved Principal Joseph M. DiGise. This year, we’re welcoming Dr. Michael Parent, our new Principal for 2012! Dr. Parent is a veteran high school administrator who has served as an educator for the past twelve years. Before coming to PCTI, he was the Principal of Dumont High School from 2008-2012 and the Assistant Principal from 2005-2008. While in both positions, Dr. Parent served as the supervisor of World Languages, Special Education, Art, Music, and Industrial Arts.
He is both well-rounded and thoroughly educated. Dr. Parent earned his Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from William Paterson University; his Master’s degree in Administration & Supervision from Montclair State University; and his Doctorate in Education Leadership, Management, and Policy from Seton Hall University.
Dr. Parent is an open individual committed to providing everyone at PCTI with the opportunity to engage in rich discussions, projects, and programs. Communication, he notes, is key. When Dr. Parent was asked about his educational philosophy and the future of PCTI, he said, “PCTI is proven to be a model technical high school because of its values. Programs, learning opportunities, and student successes will continue to grow. I am committed to maximizing the use of technology throughout every program. Our high school will remain at the forefront of career and technical education.”
Join us in welcoming Dr. Michael Parent, PCTI’s New Principal for 2012!
