You may have passed him in the hallway or seen him in one of his many leadership roles throughout the PCTI community. Yasar Khan thrives in environments that test his mental prow- ess. This member of the Academy of Finance has traveled from Pakistan to Pennsylvania, to New Jersey and back again. Now residing in Paterson, Yasar says that PCTI gave him the perfect opportunity to succeed as a student and beyond.
Yasar is a young man with big dreams and even grander ambitions. His goal is to take advantage of every opportunity, making PCTI the perfect place to get started. Yasar is multi-lingual, has accumulated more than forty college credits while in high school, is the President of the Class of 2013, Founder and President of the Muslim Student Association, Secretary of Student/Council Interact, a member of both the American Legion and the National Honor Society (of which he is President), was chosen as a recipient for the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, and so much more.
Being involved in so many organizations and activities requires that Yasar have impeccable time management skills. Aside from school and organizations, he also tutors friends and students and has volunteered hundreds of hours at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Yasar’s ability to selflessly care for others has led him down a very unique career path. “I’d like to focus on pursuing my passion of Administration and Healthcare.”
Yasar aspires to receive dual degrees from a University, eventually obtaining a Masters in Public Health/Healthcare Administration and a Masters in Business Administration. But that’s not all. He eventually seeks to climb the political ranks, representing the community on a national level. By gaining political office, Yasar hopes to encourage change. When asked about his political views, Yasar mentioned that he would like to be an inspirer, giving people the tools they need to succeed.
“I want everyone to have the same oppor- tunities that I’ve been given. In order for that to happen, they need to know what’s open to them and get involved.”
Wise words from a very wise young man! Congratulations on all of your successes thus far, Yasar. Your future is bright with possibilities!
