Everything comes full circle. Just ask Ronnie Williams, Discipline Coordinator and Girls Basketball Coach at PCTI. As a student, Mr. Williams played on the Varsity Boys Basketball team. In 1976, PCTI claimed victory as All County Champs – a feat that has been accomplished less than a handful of times since. Now, under the tutelage of Mr. Williams and Assistant Coaches Bill Halbach, Ralph Fava, & Kelly Mc Closeky, the Girls Basketball team has secured the title for themselves. For the second time in Bulldog history, PCTI’s Girls Basketball team has been named All County Champs!
When asked about the win, Mr. Williams had this to say:
This is such a great accomplishment for our students. It’s something that will stick with them for the rest of their lives. I really want them to experience the Bulldog Spirit and carry that feeling with them forever. We’ve made a pact that in years to come, that we’ll stay close…like the family PCTI encouraged us to become.
The winning game took place on February 25th against PCTI’s opponent, Wayne Hills High School. Two Co-MVPs stood out from the rest – Nikia Richardson and Kiana Briggs. Both seniors play side by side as Point (Richardson) and Shooting (Briggs) Guards. They average 9 points per game with two assists. This amazing feat couldn’t have been accomplished without the efforts of the entire team. Members include: Dehja Flood, Kerona Morton, Rasheema Klein, Sierra McDuffie, Tamira Easterling, Chantelle Smith, Laquil McKnight, Iman Nickolason, Kiana Brigs, Brianna Bease, Erika Jarrett, and Nikia Richardson.
Congratulations to PCTI’s Girls Basketball Team, All County Champs!
