The PCTI STEM National Honor Society (NHS) successfully launched an AI Literacy Education Initiative, with NHS members serving as student ambassadors. They engaged freshman students in meaningful discussions about the ethical implications of generative AI in academic settings. Additionally, the ambassadors introduced freshmen to AI tools and applications deemed most beneficial for their academic success.
This initiative highlighted PCTI’s commitment to fostering ethical technology use and preparing students for the future of AI in education. Through hands-on workshops and interactive presentations, the ambassadors emphasized the importance of responsible AI usage, ensuring students understand both its potential and limitations.
They also encouraged critical thinking by facilitating debates on scenarios where AI misuse could pose challenges in education and beyond. By providing practical examples of AI integration in various subjects, the initiative ensured students gained a comprehensive understanding of its academic advantages.
This approach not only empowered students with knowledge but also aligned with PCTI’s broader mission of nurturing informed and responsible digital citizens.
