The New York Giants and Ford Motor Company recently visited Passaic County Technical Institute's (PCTI) School of Automotive, engaging students in an inspiring conversation about career opportunities within both the automotive and sports industries. The event featured Giants players Jonathan Casillas and Diontae Johnson, who shared insights into their journeys and the importance of education, resilience, and exploring varied career options.
Jonathan Casillas encouraged students to embrace opportunities courageously, emphasizing perseverance and the importance of a strong work ethic. He highlighted that maintaining a positive mindset is key to overcoming obstacles and achieving success. Diontae Johnson further emphasized the value of teamwork, noting that surrounding oneself with the right people and following one’s passion can be transformative. Johnson also stressed the critical role of education as a foundation for any successful career.
Representatives from Ford Motor Company provided students with a comprehensive view of the diverse roles available in the automotive industry, discussing opportunities in fields such as engineering, design, and technology. They were joined by PCTI alumnus Ubaldo Aguilar, who is currently working in the automotive field—a career he embarked upon through PCTI's co-op program. Aguilar's story highlighted the practical benefits of the co-op experience, showing current students the tangible career pathways available through their education.
The visit served as an invaluable source of motivation, encouraging PCTI students to pursue their interests and recognize the broad spectrum of career paths accessible to them, whether in sports, automotive, or other fields.
