We are excited to celebrate Christina Salazar and Haley Mody as part of the 2025 Governor STEM Scholar class, made up of 111 high school and college students from all of New Jersey's 21 counties. This prestigious program offers students the opportunity to connect with STEM professionals and experts, learn about higher education and career pathways in STEM, participate in a STEM research project, and acquire important professional development skills.
Christina Salazar, a senior in the PCTI STEM Academy Computer Science pathway, is eager to expand her horizons. As she approaches graduation, Christina is most excited about the opportunities the Governor's STEM Scholars program will provide, particularly the chance to explore colleges and determine the best educational pathway for her future.
Beyond her academic pursuits, Christina is actively involved in various clubs, including History, Environmental Club, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), and SkillsUSA, showcasing her broad interests and dedication to extracurricular engagement. She looks forward to gaining valuable insights and experiences that will help shape her future in Computer Science.
Haley Mody, a junior in PCTI STEM Academy’s Engineering pathway, is excited to dive deeper into her passion for research as part of the Governor’s STEM Scholars program. She finds the research aspect particularly thrilling, as it offers her a chance to explore new ideas and innovations in STEM.
In addition to her coursework, Haley has been involved in several activities, including the Engineering Club, SkillsUSA, and Speech and Debate. As she continues her journey, Haley is enthusiastic about furthering her knowledge and skills, preparing herself for a successful career in the world of STEM.
Upon graduating from the Governor's STEM Scholars in May 2025, they will join an alumni network of nearly 1,000 STEM students and professionals.
Both Christina and Haley are outstanding scholars, and we look forward to seeing them thrive as they embark on their exciting STEM journeys!
