Congratulations Athlete of the Month, Salman Chowdhury!
Salman, the foil captain of the varsity fencing team, is a senior in the STEM engineering program. He is highly involved in various extracurricular activities, including leadership roles in FBLA and STEM Skills USA. Outside of school, Salman enjoys playing soccer with friends and competing in academic challenges. One of his favorite memories is Fencing Appreciation Day, where he had the chance to try different types of fencing equipment and engage in friendly challenges with teammates. As a high school senior, Salman aspires to pursue a career in engineering, with a particular interest in consultations and research. He is awaiting university acceptance letters and has already been accepted into Yale University!
Salman would like to express his gratitude: "Shoutout to the coaches, because beyond the sport, they push you to be not only the best athlete but also the best person—emphasizing kindness and academic success. They support every aspect of your life."

CCongratulations Athlete of the Month, Bianca Pimental!
Bianca, a senior in the STEM Engineering Academy, competes in varsity fencing on the sabre A-strip. While she dedicates much of her time to fencing, Bianca has also been involved in the debate team but now primarily focuses on her co-op. She works at a water treatment facility in Lincoln Park, where she shadows the lead engineer. Outside of her duties, Bianca enjoys hobbies such as singing at her church, playing bass, baking, and going on runs. As she prepares for college, Bianca plans to pursue a master's degree in civil engineering while continuing her fencing career. A memorable moment for Bianca was the team's experience at the Santelli tournament last Sunday, where the close-knit bond of the team was evident as everyone got along so well.
Bianca expresses her gratitude: "Shoutout to God, my parents, my coaches, and my amazing team, especially my captain Nellie, for all her support and for being so loving and caring."
