PCTVS hosted "She Speaks Power," a Women's Empowerment Panel in celebration of Women's History Month. The event attended by invited PCTVS club officers and class representatives was an excellent opportunity for students to gain insight into the challenges women face in the workforce and how they can overcome them.
The empowerment panel was comprised of Assemblywoman Shavonda Sumter, PCTI Vice Principal Jeannie Holman, STEM Vice Principal Catiana Valik, Real Estate Broker Owner and Entrepreneur Jessica Rojas, and Entrepreneur and Investor Luz Echevarria. The panelist, all successful women from various fields shared their education, family life, and challenges. The topics discussed included education, career choices, career wins and losses, barriers for women, benefits of having empowered women in an organization, and goal setting. They also discussed the importance of empowering women in the workplace and the benefits it can bring to organizations. The panelists were engaging and provided insightful and thought-provoking answers to the questions asked by the moderator and the audience.
The panel provided an excellent opportunity for students to learn from successful women, fostered an engaging discussion, and gain valuable insights into how they can overcome the challenges they may face in their future careers.
