Special Education Programs & Services at PCTVS

The Superintendent and Board of Education at Passaic County Technical-Vocational Schools are committed to supporting the needs of classified students across the county. These students receive specialized education services, through an Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), to foster their academic and personal success.

Our Mission

The mission of the Special Education Department at Passaic County Technical Vocational Schools is to provide comprehensive, individualized support that empowers students to succeed academically, socially, and vocationally. Through collaboration with parents, educational staff, case managers, speech therapists, crisis counselors, and transition coordinators, we work to create a nurturing and inclusive environment that meets the diverse needs of each student. Our goal is to equip students with the skills, confidence, and resources needed to achieve their fullest potential, both in their education and future careers.

Child Study Team

Case managers play a vital role in supporting students with special education needs. PCTVS has four child study teams that serve as the primary point of contact for students, parents, and faculty, ensuring that each student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP) is implemented effectively. Case managers collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other specialists to monitor progress, address challenges, and provide resources tailored to each student’s academic and vocational goals.
