Introduction

The Safety and Well-Being Assessment Team (SWAT) at PCTVS is a dedicated multidisciplinary team focused on ensuring a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all members of our school community.

Role of SWAT

SWAT plays a critical role in identifying and assessing behavioral threats, managing concerns, and implementing appropriate interventions to promote safety and well-being within our school community.

How SWAT Functions

Collaborative Approach

SWAT operates through a collaborative approach, bringing together professionals from diverse backgrounds, including educators, counselors, administrators, and law enforcement, when necessary.

Threat Assessment and Management

The team conducts thorough and confidential assessments of reported concerns, utilizing evidence-based practices to evaluate potential threats and determine appropriate interventions.

Intervention and Support

SWAT is committed to implementing timely interventions and providing support to individuals in crisis while also focusing on preventive measures and long-term solutions.

Reporting concerns or threats is crucial to maintaining a safe environment. You may report matters of concern to SWAT through various channels:

  • Confidential reporting forms are available on our website or school app
  • HIB Reporting
  • See Something, Say Something
  • Directly contacting a member of the SWAT team
  • Informing any PCTVS staff member or administrator
  • All reports are handled with the utmost confidentiality and urgency.

    What types of concerns should be reported to SWAT?

    SWAT encourages the reporting of any behavior, verbal threats, or actions that may pose a risk to the safety or well-being of individuals within our school community. This includes, but is not limited to, concerns related to violence, self-harm, bullying, substance abuse, or mental health issues.

    Will my report remain confidential?

    Your report will be handled with the highest level of confidentiality. While investigating and addressing concerns might require sharing information within the SWAT team, your privacy will be respected to the fullest extent possible.

    How quickly will reports be addressed?

    SWAT acknowledges the importance of timely intervention. Reports will be assessed promptly, and appropriate actions will be taken in alignment with the severity and urgency of the concern.
