PCTVS Students Shine Bright With Their Commitment to Community Service

In the bustling halls of PCTVS the dedication to community service thrives. The students of both PCTI and the STEM Academy are not just learners, they are compassionate leaders. The dedication to making a positive impact beyond the classroom is evident through several outstanding initiatives led by the students of both PCTI and the STEM Academy.

Operation Christmas Child: The ASL club, Tri-M Honor Society, and TI@ti united their efforts to participate in the Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child event. This collaboration resulted in the collection, assembly, wrapping, and donation of over 100 shoeboxes filled with joy and essentials for underprivileged children around the world. This heartwarming initiative not only exemplifies the holiday spirit but also reflects the students' commitment to spreading happiness and kindness to those in need.

Wreaths Across America: PCTVS proudly participated in National Wreaths Across America Day, honoring fallen soldiers and veterans at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa. The spirit of unity extended beyond their local community, as students joined in the wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery and countless other locations worldwide. Remarkably, PCTVS and their fellow community members donated nearly 4,500 wreaths, symbolizing their commitment to remembering, honoring, and teaching about the sacrifices of those who fought for our freedom.

NJCDC Santa's Workshop: Students from the Book Club, Sign Language Club, and History Club joined forces to contribute to NJCDC's Santa's Workshop. This commendable initiative, led by AmeriCorps Paterson Charter members, aimed to provide gifts to those less fortunate. AmeriCorps, a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing educational outcomes, and NJCDC, focused on revitalizing the Paterson community, found enthusiastic support from PCTVS students. Together, they boxed presents and brightened the holiday season for many families, reinforcing the power of collective effort.

Child Development Winter Festival: The Child Development Juniors showcased their dedication to community service by organizing a delightful Winter Festival for Head Start children. With 45 juniors working tirelessly to ensure the event's success, preschool children aged 3-5 were treated to an array of engaging activities. From holiday hand and face painting to snowman bowling and sensory stations, this festival created lasting memories for both the young participants and the student organizers. The collaborative effort and meticulous preparation that went into this initiative underscore the students' commitment to nurturing the growth and development of their community's youngest members.
