Academic Excellence Abounds at Passaic County Technical-Vocational Schools

Hardworking PCTVS seniors Shahriyar Ahmed of Paterson, Anthony DiStaso of Pompton Lakes, and Grace Tang of Hawthorne have been recognized as Commended Students for the 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program. Shahriyar studies Computer Science in the Academy of Information Technology, while Anthony and Grace are students in the School of Applied Engineering.

Approximately 1.5 million students enter the academic competition each year. The stellar students earned the commendation based on the academic prowess exhibited by their impressive PSAT scores, with all three PCTVS Bulldogs ranking in the 96th percentile.

Additionally, Academy of Information Technology student Victoria Aquino of Clifton and School of Applied Engineering student Gabriella Pimenta-Fujikawa of Woodland Park were recently acknowledged for their academic excellence. Both of the young women were named Hispanic Scholars under the College Board National Recognition Program for their outstanding PSAT performance and for maintaining a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
