At Passaic County Technical-Vocational Schools, technology is at the forefront of learning. Our very nature requires that we teach with the latest technology and use that same technology in the operation of our high schools.
Each classroom is outfitted with a wealth of technology that is typically found in universities and corporate environments. This seamless integration in a high school setting provides students the opportunity to become architects of their education. They have access to the latest computers, high-speed Wi-Fi, and various educational software. As part of the school’s one-to-one initiative, all students receive Dell Chromebooks to further support their academic pursuits and to access digital course materials.
Additionally, science labs are furnished with professional research instrumentation while career training centers feature advanced equipment to mirror medical offices, automotive centers, financial institutions, corporate offices, and more. PCTVS even has its very own digital video and television studios which feature the same professional editing software used by Hollywood and New York filmmakers.
PCTVS operates on a “converged network,” a system illustrated through our commitment to delivering communication and data service. Technologies such as Telephony, Public Address, Video Distribution, Surveillance, and Access Control are unified and delivered via IP to all corners of campus. Our investment in state-of-the-art video surveillance and access control technologies ensures a safe environment for all staff and students. Security staff monitor the 300+ surveillance cameras on campus and in areas equipped with access control can perform a full lockdown at a moment’s notice.
PCTVS offers a custom mobile app for use by the school community. The TechLife app is a comprehensive digital guide to the PCTVS campus. Features include a campus map with turn-by-turn walking directions and the ability to stay connected with the latest news and upcoming events.
PCTVS is dedicated to eliminating the barriers of time, distance, and socioeconomic status and instead emphasize the importance of education and technology. Join our staff and students in embracing the age of technological advancement, exploration, ingenuity, and most of all, learning.
