PCTVS December Students of the Month!

Minhaz Rahman

Minhaz Rahman, a dedicated student of the STEM Biomedical and Life Sciences Pathway, embarked on this educational journey with a profound passion for biology and science, cultivated since middle school.

With a remarkable GPA of 4.55, Minhaz not only excels academically but also actively participates in extracurricular activities. He is an active member of HOSA and the environmental science club. Beyond his school commitments, Minhaz spends his after-school hours contributing to his father’s restaurant, demonstrating his work ethic and dedication to both his school activaties and his family.

Upon graduation, Minhaz has set his sights on pursuing a pre-med program at an in-state college. His long-term ambition is to become a general practitioner and attain an MD degree.

When asked about being named Student of the Month, Minhaz shared “I was pretty surprised when I saw the email. I’ve seen the announcements and posters about student of the month, but I never thought I’d actually be picked for it.”

Minhaz offers valuable advice to freshmen and his fellow classmates, “Just go with the flow. Try to get to know people, work your way into your surroundings and try to enjoy it.”

Minhaz Rahman’s academic excellence, commitment to extracurricular activities, and clear vision for his future endeavors make him a standout student, worthy of recognition and admiration. Saran Nunez

Sara Nunez, a diligent and ambitious student, has demonstrated a strong commitment to her academic and extracurricular pursuits during her time at PCTI's Academy of Finance.

Sara's journey in the Academy of Finance began when she decided to pursue her interest in finance and delve deeper into the subject. Her choice reflects her dedication to learning and her desire to gain expertise in the field.

Apart from her academic achievement, Sara is actively involved in various clubs at school. She is a member of Consumer Bowl, Book Club, and Christian Student Association and serves as the Treasurer for both Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and Rho Kappa Honor Society. In addition, she is a proud member of National Honor Society and World Language Honor Society, showcasing her dedication to excellence in education. Sara is also part of the cooperative education program currently working in the PCTVS administration office. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her sister, watching sitcoms, and engaging in the daily New York Times Wordle challenge.

Looking ahead, Sara aspires to pursue higher education, with a focus on financial engineering. Her impressive GPA of 4.34 is a testament to her academic excellence, and it is clear that she has a bright future ahead.

When asked about advice for incoming freshmen and her classmates, Sara offers wisdom: "Just be yourself, love yourself, and do what makes you happy."

Matthew Orozco

Matthew Orozco is an outstanding student in the School of Applied Engineering at PCTI. He chose his CTE because of his genuine passion for technology and a keen interest in the advanced resources available in this academic concentration.

Being recognized as Student of the Month is a well-deserved accolade for Matthew, and he humbly expresses his feelings about this achievement by stating, "I feel honored. It feels nice to be acknowledged for hard work." Matthew's dedication to his studies is evident in his GPA, which stands at an impressive 4.44.

Beyond the classroom, Matthew actively participates in various clubs and sports at PCTI. He is a dedicated member of the cross country and track teams as well as part of the World Language Honor Society and FBLA, showcasing his commitment as a true bulldog.

Matthew's after-school activities are a testament to his well-roundedness. He dedicates most of his time to running and track, highlighting his discipline and determination. On weekends, he generously contributes to his community by volunteering at church and dedicating his time to volunteer work twice a week.

As he looks forward to his future beyond high school, Matthew has set his sights on pursuing a degree in Computer Science at NJIT. He has discovered a deep interest in coding and aspires to become a software engineer or focus on computer science.

Matthew offers valuable wisdom to his fellow classmates, saying, "Just keep working, don't stop, and don't give up." These words reflect his perseverance and determination, which have undoubtedly contributed to his success.
