Dishant Alay Gandhi
Dishant Alay Gandhi of Passaic recalls being a freshman and walking past the Student of the Month bulletin board in the main hallway every morning, “I remember thinking about how their journey and achievements would cheer me up and push me further to strive for greatness.” He is now a member of that elite club and remarked, “It’s a rewarding feeling and an honor to carry this title.”
Dishant is PCTI’s November Student of the Month. He is now a senior in the School of Applied Engineering where his current GPA is 4.401 and he ranks in the top one percent in his class. Here at school, he is a SeaPerch team captain for the Engineering Club, as well as a member of the Astronomy and Environmental Clubs, and World Language Honor Society. Away from campus Dishant likes to play video games and soccer with friends. He also volunteers at St. Mary’s Hospital and participates in community food drives.
Dishant’s future goals are to attend either Rutgers University, Seton Hall University, New York University, or the University of Pennsylvania, where he looks to earn an MBA from one of their respective business schools. His goal is become a financial analyst/advisor for a major corporation such as Berkshire Hathaway or Morgan Stanley.
When asked if he considers himself a role model to other students, Dishant humbly replied, “I would consider myself to be a role model to some because of my tenaciousness, my deep sense of confidence in myself, and the love I have in the things I do.” Congratulations to this ambitious young man - you have the heart of a lion and you have made your friends, family, and all of us here at PCTVS proud! And although Dishant mentioned that one of his challenges is his fear of heights, for him, the sky is the limit!

Roselyn Martinez
Roselyn Martinez, a Passaic native, is a PCTI November Student of the Month. She is an outstanding academic student in the School of Education and Human Services where she studies Child Development. “I can truly say that I’m happy and proud of my hard work and dedication because it is such a big accomplishment to achieve student of the month.”
She sets some very high goals for herself which is reflected in her current GPA of 4.456. Roselyn also ranks in the top 1% of her class and validates her success through a study method she learned here at PCTVS called The Pomodoro Technique. While at PCTVS, Roselyn is member of the Future Educators Association, Gifted and Talented, 2021-2022 Girls State, as well as National Honor Society.
When she’s not in school, Roselyn loves to spend quality time destressing with friends and family. She likes to paint with her younger sister and go shopping with her mom the most. She also enjoys going to the gym to work out with her friend and going on a walk to the park with her mom and sisters.
Roselyn’s future goals are to attend college at either Northeastern University or Yale as her favorites, but would also be open to Montclair State, Ramapo, or Rutgers University where she would pursue a major in International Business and a minor in Sociology. She has a passion for learning about other cultures and languages, so she wants to travel the world to expand her knowledge and perspective.
Career-wise her dream is to work at Walt Disney or in the hospitality industry at the corporate level to ensure that people get to make inspiring memories. When asked if she considers herself a role model to other students, Roselyn unpretentiously replied, “I would consider myself a role model. I’m involved within the school, I work hard towards my classes and extracurriculars, and I’m always trying to grow as a person.”

Duaa Raza
Duaa Raza of Wayne is one of the most highly intelligent and academically successful students to grace the campus at PCTVS. Her ability to communicate, her gracious personality, and her insatiable thirst for knowledge and learning has made her a very well-known name throughout both schools, and she is the STEM Academy November Student of the Month.
Duaa is an extraordinary member of STEM’s Biomedical and Life Sciences pathway where she currently holds a 4.478 GPA and ranks in the top 3% of her class. When asked how it felt to be Student of the Month, Duaa replied, “This is a great honor! It’s amazing! It definitely makes me feel grateful to attend a school where putting in the work academically is applauded; and it definitely motivates me to continue!”
While on campus, Duaa is President of Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA), Vice President of Gifted and Talented Academic Quiz Bowl, STEM Expo Co-Founder and Institutional Review Board Committee member, STEM Advisory Committee- Biomedical Student Representative, AP Scholar with Distinction, National Honor Society member, New Jersey Governor's School in the Sciences Scholar, STEAM Tank Competition winner, 1st Place Best In Show Award in the 2021 STEM Academy STEM EXPO, Saturday STEM Academy Teaching Assistant, and so many more!
In her free time, Duaa loves to read, hike, paint, kickbox, watch movies, partake in random acts of kindness, volunteer to advance healthcare and educational accessibility for marginalized groups, as well as memorize the lyrics from the Hamilton musical. She also organized the Covid-19 Initiative Campaign and donated $700 to a local hospital during the pandemic to help healthcare workers fight Covid-19.
Duaa’s future goals are to attend a college or university that allows her to pursue her interests in research and medicine and become a physician scientist. “Goals evolve as you change and grow, so I can’t wait to see where my path leads! And along the way I will always remember to stop and smell the roses!”
