Tavia Imani Hunt

Tavia Imani Hunt

Tavia Imani Hunt of Paterson is a modest, hardworking student who knows what it takes to achieve greatness. She says, “Don’t underestimate yourself and always try your best. Failure is a part of the process, so don’t let that stop you.”

Tavia is a senior in the School of Business Careers with a focus on Global Management. Her current GPA is 4.329 and she ranks in the top ten percent of her class. She looks forward to attending either Penn State, Drexel University, or Rutgers University, where she will pursue a degree in Business Accounting. Tavia also wants to get her MBA and CPA certification and work for one of the “Big Four” Accounting/Consulting firms. She also wants to travel the world and experience as many foreign places and cultures as she can.

Tavia is involved in many PCTVS extracurricular activities and clubs. She is the vice president of the National Honor Society, as well as a member of the World Language Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America, and the PCTVS Book Club. She is also a Class of 2022 representative, has acted and danced in two African American Assemblies, and participated in the Wreaths Across America Wreath Laying Ceremony at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

When she’s not in the classroom or on campus, Tavia likes to watch the Anime (a Japanese style cartoon), YouTube, read Manga novels or webtoons, and listen to music. She has also participated in The Samaritan's Purse Project Operation Christmas Child which collects shoebox gifts filled with fun toys, school supplies and hygiene items and delivers them to children in need around the world.

When asked if she considers herself a role model, Tavia replied, “I am not a perfect person so I can’t confidently say ‘yes,’ but I try to be the best person I can be by involving myself in the community and school activities. Regardless of the size of my contribution, I hope I positively impact the people around me.”

Madelyn Pacheco-Marin

Madelyn Pacheco-Marin

Passaic native Madelyn Pacheco-Marin is a diligent, hardworking student who understands that success doesn’t necessarily fit a particular mold. She says, “Success looks different on everyone. I know it can be intimidating hearing about other students’ grades and accomplishments and GPAs, but you do not have to compare yourself and your success to others.”

Madelyn is a senior in the School of Cosmetology and has a GPA of 4.041. She is a member of the PCTVS NJROTC where she holds a leadership position as Officer of Deck, National Honor Society, World Language Honor Society, and Student Council. As a freshman, she immediately established her knack for hairstyling by winning second place in the Cosmetology 1 Hair Contest, and over the last four years has earned her Cosmetology and Hairstyling Permit. Madelyn has also been on the Principal’s Honor Roll twice and participated in the annual PCTVS food drive.

When she is not on campus, Madelyn volunteers some of her time as an English and Math tutor for the local elementary schools and has also worked with the Passaic Dignity House, which offers shelter for the homeless. She also recognizes the need for self-love and self-care, “While school and work are important components to one’s life, it is vital to give yourself some downtime and do things you enjoy. For me, it’s running in the park or watching and recreating make-up tutorials. I also like trying different hairstyles on myself too.”

Madelyn’s future goals include going out of state for college possibly to UCLA, University of Miami, Boston University, or NYU. She has also considered in-state schools like Rutgers, Montclair State, or Kean. Madelyn intends on studying economics, go to law school, and maybe even trying her hand at politics at some point. She also intends on staying true to her Cosmetology roots as well by opening a hair salon and one day creating her own hair color line.

Congratulations to Madelyn! We know you will be successful in all your future endeavors!
