February Athletes of the Month

Aydan Robinson and Frank Gallo
Congratulations to Aydan Robinson and Frank Gallo, PCTVS February Athletes of the Month!

Aydan Robinson

Aydan Robinson

Aydan is a four-year varsity letter winner and a Sabre-weapon captain who, during the month of February, helped lead the Lady Bulldogs Fencing team to its greatest season in program history, posting an overall team record of 7-1 and managing to remain undefeated in Passaic County for the 2021 season (earning the “hypothetical” Passaic County Championship). During this season, Aydan anchored the girls Sabre team, managing an overall season record of 22 wins in 24 bout experiences. The Sabre weapon, known for its aggression and balance of speed, footwork and technique was the perfect weapon of choice for Aydan’s skill set as we have watched her grow with the weapon and amass a career record of 79 wins with only 28 defeats in the Sabre weapon. The career totals place Aydan a-top the PCTVS leader board for Sabre wins. Coach Migliorino said the following about Aydan:

“As a two-year Girls Sabre Captain and a rare four-year letter winner, Aydan is a consistent high-level competitor for the Lady Bulldogs. Aydan was able to learn, grow, and dominate all with a great smile and friendly outlook. Four years of developing into a fantastic fencer has paid off into her best performances yet. Aydan has set the bar high for future PCTVS fencers to try and reach. Aydan will be missed, not only for her ability to win, but for her ability to cheer her team on too. Luckily for the younger fencers, Aydan has been a fantastic example of what we hope a PCTVS fencer can become.”

Her performances will undoubtedly earn her 1st Team All Bergen-Passaic League Honors and 1st Team All-County PCCA Honors in the Sabre Weapon. As member of PCTI’s School of Communication Arts, Aydan has a GPA of 3.8 and ranks in the top one-third of her graduating class. Aydan wants to pursue a career in Animation. She has been accepted at two leading art colleges in the country, the School of Visual Arts and the Pratt Institute. She has a big decision to make in choosing one of these two prestigious schools to attend for the next four years. We wish to congratulate Aydan and the entire Lady Bulldogs Fencing team for their amazing overall growth in the sport and their historic 2021 season!

Frank Gallo

Frank Gallo

Frank is a three-year varsity letter winner and a boys Foil-weapon captain who, during the month of February, helped lead the Bulldogs Fencing team to its greatest season in program history, posting an overall team record of 7-1 and managing to remain undefeated in Passaic County for the 2021 season (earning the “hypothetical” Passaic County Championship). During this season, Frank anchored the boys Foil team, managing an overall season record of 20 wins in 24 bout experiences. The Foil weapon, known for its precision and balance of speed, footwork and technique was the perfect weapon of choice for Frank’s skill set as we have watched him grow with the weapon since his sophomore year and amass a career record of 40 wins with only 30 defeats in the Foil weapon. Coach Migliorino said the following about Frank:

“Frank doesn't move on the strip, he glides. Frank can move like no other PCTVS fencer which has helped him become a fantastic fencer. For three- years now, this team has relied on him, and each outing he gives it his best. This year in particular, he stepped up for his team and helped secure difficult wins. Frank is an example of focus, self-discipline, and what hard work can help you achieve. Frank will be missed for his work ethic, unique fencing style and all the wonderful things he gave to this team.”

His performances will undoubtedly earn him a 1st Team All Bergen-Passaic League Honor and could possibly earn him All-County Honors in the Foil Weapon. As a member of the PCTI Academy of Criminal Justice, Frank has a current year GPA of 3.5 and ranks in the top half of his graduating class. Frank has not yet committed to a college/university, but he is confident that one day he will be looking to pursue a career in Forensic Psychology. We wish to congratulate Frank and the entire Bulldogs Fencing team for their amazing overall growth in the sport and their historic 2021 season!
