April Athlete of the Month

Laith Hamdeh

Congratulations to the April Athlete of the Month, Laith Hamdeh!

Laith is a junior and three-year varsity letter winner who earned a trip to the NJSIAA Individual Wrestling Tournament Finals in March and emerged as a top finisher in the state at the 138-pound weight class. Laith had a tremendous year in which he led the Wrestling Team through a tumultuous and ever-changing season as the team adjusted to the many setbacks of the pandemic.

Although not the season everyone envisioned, the Bulldogs executed their dominance over the Big North Liberty Division and Passaic County. Laith persevered and eventually posted a career record as a junior of 82 wins with only 17 losses and a season record of 14 wins with only 4 losses. Laith is a two-time District Champion and a two-time NJSIAA State Qualifier who in this season earned a state medal in the 138- pound weight class finishing sixth overall (tying a PCTVS school record as the highest state finisher in Bulldog Wrestling history).

As a student at the STEM Academy studying Biomedical and Life Sciences, Laith ranks at the top of his class with a 3.9 GPA and will be able to explore many athletic and academic opportunities as he prepares to enter his senior year. We wish to congratulate Laith and the entire Bulldog Wrestling team for an amazing Wrestling season!
