January Athletes of the Month

Da’Shanique Ruffin and Nile Wade

Congratulations to DaShanique Ruffin and Nile Wade, January’s Athletes of the Month!

Da’ Shanique “Chyna” Ruffin is a four-year varsity letter winner and a multi-year senior captain who:

During the month of January, she helped lead the Lady Bulldogs to a four game winning streak that resulted in a 6-3 overall record, which qualified PCTI as the #4 Seed in the PCCA County Tournament. She averaged 18.4 points per game along with 12.6 rebounds, 1.4 steals per game, and 1.8 blocks. On January 6th against Eastside High School, Da’Shanique scored 31 points with 11 rebounds and 4 assists. That 31 point effort marked Da’Shanique’s 1000th career point and earned her a spot in Lady Bulldog infamy as the seventh female PCTI student-athlete to reach the historic scoring plateau. Da’ Shanique, affectionately known as “Chyna” to her friends, teammates, and coaches, can always be seen smiling, dancing and genuinely enjoying her time as a high school student-athlete. As member of the School of Culinary Arts, Chyna has a current year GPA of 3.5 and is anxiously awaiting the opportunity to continue her academic and athletic career at the collegiate level. We wish Chyna and the entire Lady Bulldogs Basketball team the best in the remaining 2018 season as well as in their County and State tournament runs.

Nile Wade is a third year varsity letter-winner and a senior captain who:

During the month of January, he helped lead the Bulldogs to a 5-5 record which qualified PCTI as the #4 seed in the PCCA Tournament. During that time, he averaged 17.1 points per game with 3.8 rebounds and 2 steals per game. Nile, known as the team’s “shooter,” has the team’s highest three-point attempts average. In the team’s Passaic County Charter Holiday Tournament, against DePaul High School, Nile had an amazing 39 point effort. Unfortunately, the Bulldogs fell just short to the Spartans. Nile is a member of the Academy of Finance and boasts a cumulative GPA of 3.13. His current year GPA is 3.75, an impressive academic mark in for his senior year. Nile is also anxiously awaiting the opportunity to continue his academic and athletic career at the collegiate level. We wish Nile and the entire Bulldogs Basketball team the best in the remaining 2018 season and in their County and State tournament runs.
