Drill Team Qualifies for Championship

PCTI's NJROTC Drill Team

PCTI’s very own Drill team was chosen to compete in the Area 4 Drill Championship. Out of fifty-one high schools with NJROTC programs, only fifteen were invited to participate. Qualifying for the event was based upon whether a school finished either first or second in a drill meet held during this past year.

PCTI made school history by finishing third overall. Other wins included: the Armed Basic and Two-Man Armed Trick teams finishing first, the Varsity Color Guard and Armed Exhibition winning second, and the Varsity Inspection team finishing third. That’s a total of five placing ranks for PCTI’s Drill Team!

According to Commander Miller, the Drill Team’s purpose is to encourage teamwork and discipline among participating cadets.

PCTI offers several sections found in the traditional Drill Team. NJROTC members can join the Armed Basic Drill, Unarmed Basic Drill, Armed Exhibition, Unarmed Exhibition, NS1 Unarmed Basic Drill (freshmen), Varsity Color Guard, NSI Color Guard, Academic Team, and the Physical Fitness Team. There are more than fifty cadets on the NJROTC Drill Team with all members participate at different levels.

Congratulations to PCTI’s Drill Team for stepping into history with their fantastic Area 4 Drill Championship accomplishments!
