Passaic County Technical Vocational Schools (PCTVS) has always placed a strong emphasis on fostering meaningful partnerships with the local community. The Passaic County Sheriff's Office (PCSO), too, recognizes the value of engaging with skilled and knowledgeable individuals to maintain its fleet of vehicles. As such, Sheriff Richard Berdnik has demonstrated a commitment to hiring only the most qualified candidates, including those who have graduated from the Passaic County Technical Institute's School of Automotive Technology

Under the supervision of Sergeant Scott Stracco, PCTI automotive technology alumni spanning from the graduating classes of 1996 to 2023 have used their training and expertise to maintain the Sheriff's fleet of vehicles. These skilled and knowledgeable individuals have been instrumental in keeping the Sheriff's vehicles ready for any tasks that arise.

One such student who is soon to join the motor pool is Justin Pagan, a current student at Passaic County Technical Institute’s (PCTI) School of Automotive Technology. Justin has spent his senior year as part of the cooperative education program at the PCSO motor pool. Justin is set to graduate in June 2023 and will soon be using the skills and training he learned at PCTI as well as his valuable hands-on experience to work at the Sheriff's Office as a full-time employee.

The Sheriff's Office's decision to hire PCTI automotive technology alumni is a testament to the high quality of education provided by the school. PCTI students receive training in the latest automotive technologies from experienced professionals in the field, and the school takes pride in producing graduates who are ready to make a positive impact in their community.

PCTVS takes great pride in the success of its alumni and is honored to see them making valuable contributions to the wider community. The school remains dedicated to providing its students with a comprehensive education that prepares them for meaningful careers in their chosen fields.
